Seguin Matadors (Seguin, TX) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the host Veterans Memorial Patriots (San Antonio, TX), 50-24 in a league bout.

With the victory, Seguin upgrades its record to 9-18 on the campaign. The Matadors host Canyon (New Braunfels, TX) to play the Cougars in a 5A Region IV District 26 bout on Tuesday, January 10. The Cougars come into the bout with a record of 3-14.

Next up, the Patriots play the Wagner Thunderbirds (San Antonio, TX) in a 5A Region IV District 26 bout, on Tuesday, January 10. Veterans Memorial will attempt to upgrade on its 2-15 season record.
