North Carolina High School Basketball - South Mecklenburg nipped by Richmond

January 6, 2024: Rockingham, NC 28380

The Richmond Raiders tipped the visiting South Mecklenburg Sabres basketball team by a final score of 94-91 in Saturday's non-league game.

In their next game, the Raiders face the Union Pines Vikings (Cameron, NC) in a 3A/4A Sandhills game, on Tuesday, January 9. Richmond will attempt to move on its 9-4 season record. The Vikings enter the game with a 9-4 record after their 58-52 league loss to Scotland (Laurinburg, NC).

With the defeat, South Mecklenburg falls to 13-1 on the campaign. The Sabres travel to Ardrey Kell (Charlotte, NC) to battle the Knights in a 4A South Meck battle on Tuesday, January 9. The Knights come into the battle with a record of 11-4. Ardrey Kell lost 54-38 in their recent league battle against Myers Park (Charlotte, NC)
