The NC GBB Academy Eagles basketball team (Durham, NC), was toppled 63-53 in Saturday's non-league battle with the visiting Cannon Cougars (Concord, NC)

The Cougars now possess a 11-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Covenant Day for a NCISAA Charlotte Independent battle on Tuesday, January 10. Cannon will confront a Lions team coming off a 76-42 non-league loss to 1 of 1 Academy Red (Indian Trail, NC). The Lions record now stands at 6-11.

The Eagles (11-6) will now prepare for their battle against Mount Zion Christian Academy (Durham, NC). The Mighty Warriors come into the CAASC Tri-Capital battle with a 1-4 record. In their last battle, Mount Zion Christian Academy was toppled by Emerson Waldorf (Chapel Hill, NC), 52-17, in a non-league battle.
