The Northern Valley Huskies basketball squad (Almena, KS), was crushed 69-27 in Tuesday's non-league battle with the host Alma Cardinals (Alma, NE)

With the victory, Alma advances its record to 9-1 on the year. The Cardinals host Franklin (Franklin, NE) to meet the Flyers in a non-league battle on Thursday, January 9. The Flyers enter the battle with a record of 1-9. Franklin lost 56-26 in their recent non-league battle against Sumner-Eddyville-Miller (Sumner, NE)

The Huskies now own a 3-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Cheylin for a Western Kansas Liberty battle on Friday, January 10. Northern Valley will meet a Cougars squad coming off a 51-36 non-league win over Wauneta-Palisade (Wauneta, NE). The Cougars record now stands at 4-3.
