The Weddington Warriors were victorious over the visiting East Mecklenburg Eagles basketball squad by a final score of 56-46 in Tuesday's non-league outing.

Next, the Warriors clash with the Sun Valley Spartans (Monroe, NC) in a 4A Southern Carolina outing, on Friday, January 17. Weddington will attempt to upgrade on its 10-4 season record. The Spartans enter the outing with a 7-8 record after their 75-32 non-league win over Gray Stone Day (Misenheimer, NC).

The Eagles (8-5) will now prepare for their outing against Independence (Charlotte, NC). The Patriots enter the 4A Southwestern outing with a 12-2 record. In their last outing, Independence ran past Providence (Charlotte, NC), 55-43, in a league outing.
