In Tuesday's league contest, the visiting Mesquite Wildcats basketball team scored a close 58-53 win over the Saguaro Sabercats.

The Wildcats (7-8) will now prepare for their contest against Marcos de Niza (Tempe, AZ). The Padres come into the 4A Desert Sky contest with a 11-5 record. In their last contest, Marcos de Niza was tipped by St. Mary's (Phoenix, AZ), 76-63, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Sabercats battle the Cactus Shadows Falcons (Cave Creek, AZ) in a 4A Desert Sky contest, on Friday, January 10. Saguaro will attempt to better on its 11-5 season record. The Falcons come into the contest with a 9-3 record after their 72-38 non-league win over Desert Sunrise (Maricopa, AZ).
