Next, the Patriots face the Keswick Christian Crusaders (St. Petersburg, FL) in a non-league game, on Friday, January 10. Master's Academy will attempt to advance on its 12-2 season record. After a long winter's nap, the Master's Academy Lady Patriots wasted no time taking a lead on the MCC Hustlers. In the 1st minute of the game, EllaMae Crooks scored the first goal of the game on a header from a perfect corner kick from Ada Boesch. Amelia Crooks scored two goals (11', 28') both assisted by Keira Smylie. Smylie scored a goal of her own in the 22nd minute. The Hustlers kept the game competitive but never caught up or passed the Lady Patriots. Teagan Borcheller scored a beautiful goal in the 62nd minute that ended up as the game-winning goal thanks to a 79th minute goal by the Lady Hustlers in a failed attempt to catch up. Goalkeeper Annie Manzi saved the day by blocking a Penalty Kick that would have been the equalizer in the Patriots successful grudge match to avenge their earlier loss to the Hustlers.
