North Carolina High School Basketball - Neuse Charter defeats Ascend Leadership

January 8, 2025: Sanford, NC 27332

The Neuse Charter Cougars (Smithfield, NC) basketball were victorious over the host Ascend Leadership Aviators (Sanford, NC), 62-49 in Wednesday's non-league outing.

Next, the Cougars clash with the North Duplin Rebels (Calypso, NC) in a 1A Carolina outing, on Tuesday, January 14. Neuse Charter will attempt to upgrade on its 8-6 season record. The Rebels enter the outing with a 2-8 record after their 68-65 non-league loss to Bear Grass Charter (Williamston, NC).

The Aviators (3-6) will now prepare for their outing against Woods Charter (Chapel Hill, NC). The Wolves enter the 1A Central Tar Heel outing with a 5-4 record. In their last outing, Woods Charter ran past Carolina Friends (Durham, NC), 53-51, in a non-league outing.
