North East Carolina Prep Husky (Tarboro, NC) supporters left the game happy Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad hold off the host Southside Seahawks (Chocowinity, NC), 73-71 in a non-league match.

With the victory, North East Carolina Prep advances its record to 10-2 on the year. The Husky host Riverside-Martin (Williamston, NC) to face the Knights in a non-league match on Thursday, January 9. The Knights enter the match with a record of 1-0. Riverside-Martin won 77-70 in their recent non-league match against Bertie (Windsor, NC)

The Seahawks now own a 1-9 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Mattamuskeet for a non-league match on Thursday, January 9. Southside will face a Lakers squad coming off a 60-34 non-league win over Pungo Christian Academy (Belhaven, NC). The Lakers record now stands at 1-2.
