Game Story

North Carolina High School Basketball - Monroe succumbs to Porter Ridge

January 8, 2025: Monroe, NC 28112

In Wednesday's non-league test, the Porter Ridge Pirates (Indian Trail, NC) basketball squad defeated the host Monroe Redhawks (Monroe, NC), by a final score of 81-68.

Next, the Pirates clash with the Weddington Warriors (Matthews, NC) in a 4A Southern Carolina test, on Friday, January 10. Porter Ridge will attempt to upgrade on its 13-3 season record. The Warriors come into the test with a 9-5 record after their 56-41 non-league win over East Mecklenburg (Charlotte, NC).

The Redhawks (6-2) will now prepare for their test against Anson (Wadesboro, NC). The Bearcats come into the 2A/3A Rocky River test with a 6-7 record. In their last test, Anson went down by Parkwood (Monroe, NC), 59-19, in a league test.
