In Thursday's non-league contest, the host Scammon Bay Eagles basketball team scored a close 67-64 triumph over the Nelson Island Islanders.

The Eagles (1-2) will now prepare for their battle against Chevak (Chevak, AK). The Comets enter the non-league battle with a 1-0 record. In their last battle, Chevak tipped Chaputnguak (Chefornak, AK), 70-42, in a non-league battle.
