In Thursday's non-league contest, the host Mt. Pleasant Christian Lions basketball team scored a close 60-57 win over the Evangel Christian Lightning.

The Lions (10-2) will now prepare for their contest against Life Christian Academy (Harvest, AL). The Lions come into the non-league contest with a 3-5 record. In their last contest, Life Christian Academy was tipped by Franklin Road Christian (Murfreesboro, TN), 35-20, in a non-league contest.
