In Thursday's league contest, the host Fairmont Golden Tornadoes basketball team scored a big 60-12 win over the Midway Raiders.

The Golden Tornadoes (11-1) will now prepare for their contest against St. Pauls (St. Pauls, NC). The Bulldogs come into the 2A Southeastern contest with a 12-2 record. In their last contest, St. Pauls smashed Red Springs (Red Springs, NC), 58-38, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Raiders battle the Spring Creek Gators (Seven Springs, NC) in a non-league contest, on Monday, January 13. Midway will attempt to better on its 5-6 season record. The Gators come into the contest with a 3-7 record after their 57-28 league loss to North Johnston (Kenly, NC).
