North Carolina High School Soccer - Weddington knocks off Hickory Ridge
October 8, 2025: Matthews, NC 28104 Fans at Wednesday's non-league battle between the Weddington Warriors (Matthews, NC) and the visiting Hickory Ridge Ragin' Bulls (Harrisburg, NC), saw Weddington's soccer squad knock off Hickory Ridge by a count of 5-2.
The Warriors (6-5) will now prepare for their match against Charlotte Catholic (Charlotte, NC). The Cougars come into the Southern Carolina 6A/7A match with a 14-1 record. In their last match, Charlotte Catholic nipped Piedmont (Monroe, NC), 3-0, in a league match.
The Ragin' Bulls now sport a 11-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Central Cabarrus for a Greater Metro (GMAC) 6A/7A match on Tuesday, October 14. Hickory Ridge will meet a Vikings team coming off a 1-0 non-league loss to Carson (China Grove, NC). The Vikings record now stands at 1-13.
