California High School Volleyball - Yucaipa Redlands

October 10, 2024: Redlands, CA 92374

In Thursday's league match, the Redlands Terriers (Redlands, CA) volleyball squad overcame the visiting Yucaipa Thunderbirds (Yucaipa, CA), by a count of 3-1.

Next up, the Terriers battle the Beaumont Cougars (Beaumont, CA) in a Citrus Belt match, on Tuesday, October 15. Redlands will attempt to move on its 20-11 season record.

The Thunderbirds (19-10) will now prepare for their match against Citrus Valley (Redlands, CA). The Blackhawks enter the Citrus Belt match with a 16-9 record. In their last match, Citrus Valley notched a victory over Cajon (San Bernardino, CA), 3-1, in a league match.

Coaches Summary

Match Summary

Redlands had its annual senior night, and honored seniors Devi Lucas, Chloe Coffin, Eva Larrondo, Lauren Reiter and Saniyah Sobers. Yucaipa played Redlands tight in the first set, and were poised to upset Redlands' final home league game. They even won set two after Redlands' comeback attempt failed. Yucaipa was targeting the right corner to some success. But ultimately, based on the play of the seniors and the sophomores, Redlands prevailed three sets to one. As one parent commented, Terrier Gym's low ceiling was the seventh player, with Yucaipa hitting it with some regularity. No doubt Yucaipa's talented seniors are glad that they would never have to play in Terrier Gym again. Redlands defended their home gym for the third consecutive league season. Redlands league home win streak dates back to September 2022, and will last at least until September 2025.
