The crowd at Friday's league contest between the Corsicana Tigers (Corsicana, TX) and the visiting Poteet Pirates (Mesquite, TX), witnessed Corsicana's football squad topple Poteet by a count of 49-28.

The Tigers (3-3) will now prepare for their contest against Greenville (Greenville, TX). The Lions enter the 5A-2 Region II District 6 contest with a 0-6 record. In their last contest, Greenville was outscored by Ennis (Ennis, TX), 28-8, in a league contest.

Coming up next, the Pirates confront the Kaufman Lions (Kaufman, TX) in a 5A-2 Region II District 6 contest, on Friday, October 17. Poteet will attempt to upgrade on its 2-4 season record. The Lions enter the contest with a 2-4 record after their 49-35 league loss to Crandall (Crandall, TX).
