Desert Edge Scorpions (Goodyear, AZ) boosters were content Friday as they observed their football squad smash the visiting Verrado Vipers (Buckeye, AZ), 44-7 in a league match.

The Scorpions (7-0) will now prepare for their match against Tolleson (Tolleson, AZ). The Wolverines come into the 5A Desert West match with a 6-1 record. In their last match, Tolleson was routed by Millennium (Goodyear, AZ), 38-21, in a league match.

Coming up next, the Vipers confront the Canyon View Jaguars (Waddell, AZ) in a 5A Desert West match, on Friday, October 17. Verrado will attempt to upgrade on its 4-3 season record. The Jaguars come into the battle with a 5-2 record after their 49-0 league win over Kellis (Glendale, AZ).
