In Thursday's league game, the Strom Thurmond Rebels (Johnston, SC) football team smashed the host Pelion Panthers (Pelion, SC), by a final score of 43-7.

The Rebels (6-2) will now prepare for their game against Silver Bluff (Aiken, SC). The Bulldogs come into the AA Region 3 game with a 6-2 record. In their last game, Silver Bluff was trounced by Saluda (Saluda, SC), 15-14, in a league game.

The Panthers now hold a 3-5 record. They take the field next when they host Batesburg-Leesville for a AA Region 3 game on Friday, October 20. Pelion will battle a Panthers team coming off a 42-14 league win over Fox Creek (North Augusta, SC). The Panthers record now stands at 3-5.
