In Friday's non-league match, the host South Pontotoc Cougars football squad scored a good 35-8 victory over the Alcorn Central Bears.

In their next game, the Cougars clash with the New Albany Bulldogs (New Albany, MS) in a 4A Region 2 match, on Friday, October 20. South Pontotoc will attempt to move on its 3-5 season record.
