The Vela Sabercats topped the visiting McAllen Bulldogs football team by a count of 42-20 in Friday's league outing.

With the win, Vela upgrades its record to 6-1 on the season. The Sabercats travel to Juarez-Lincoln (La Joya, TX) to confront the Huskies in a 5A-1 Region IV District 15 outing on Thursday, October 19. The Huskies go into the outing with a record of 0-7. Juarez-Lincoln lost 49-21 in their recent league outing against McAllen Memorial (McAllen, TX)

With the loss, McAllen moves to 5-2 on the season. The Bulldogs host Palmview (La Joya, TX) to confront the Lobos in a 5A-1 Region IV District 15 outing on Friday, October 20. The Lobos go into the outing with a record of 2-5. Palmview lost 42-13 in their recent league outing against Rio Grande City (Rio Grande City, TX)
