October 17, 2024: Ponca City, OK 74601 The crowd at Thursday's non-league contest between the Sapulpa Chieftains (Sapulpa, OK) and the host Ponca City Wildcats (Ponca City, OK), witnessed Sapulpa's football squad topple Ponca City by a tally of 28-7.
The Chieftains (4-3) will now prepare for their contest against Putnam City North (Oklahoma City, OK). The Panthers enter the 6A-II District 2 contest with a 6-1 record. In their last contest, Putnam City North thwarted Bartlesville (Bartlesville, OK), 23-0, in a league contest.
Coming up next, the Wildcats confront the Bartlesville Bruins (Bartlesville, OK) in a 6A-II District 2 contest, on Friday, October 25. Ponca City will attempt to better on its 1-6 season record. The Bruins enter the contest with a 0-7 record after their 23-0 league loss to Putnam City North (Oklahoma City, OK).
