The Sandia Matadors soccer squad scored 8 points and held the visiting Manzano Monarchs to 2 in the Matadors league victory on Saturday.

The Matadors now hold a 7-11 record. They play next when they host Eldorado for a 5A District 2 bout on Wednesday, October 22. Sandia will play a Golden Eagles squad coming off a 5-0 league win over Santa Fe (Santa Fe, NM). The Golden Eagles record now stands at 14-2.

With the loss, Manzano falls to 7-9 on the campaign. The Monarchs host La Cueva (Albuquerque, NM) to face the Bears in a 5A District 2 game on Tuesday, October 21. The Bears come into the game with a record of 13-4. La Cueva won 10-0 in their recent league game against Capital (Santa Fe, NM)
