October 2, 2025: Mentor, OH 44060 St. Vincent-St. Mary Fighting Irish (Akron, OH) followers went home in high spirits Thursday as they saw their football squad smash the host Lake Catholic Cougars (Mentor, OH), 38-6 in a non-league match.
The Fighting Irish (7-0) will now prepare for their match against Walsh Jesuit (Cuyahoga Falls, OH). The Warriors come into the non-league match with a 2-4 record. In their last match, Walsh Jesuit was routed by Archbishop Hoban (Akron, OH), 34-20, in a non-league match.
Coming up next, the Cougars confront the Padua Franciscan Bruins (Parma, OH) in a non-league match, on Thursday, October 9. Lake Catholic will attempt to upgrade on its 0-5 season record.
