In Friday's league match, the visiting Matoaca Warriors football squad scored a close 27-20 victory over the Prince George Royals.

The Warriors (2-6) will now prepare for their match against Hopewell (Hopewell, VA). The Blue Devils enter the Central battle with a 3-5 record. In their last battle, Hopewell was tipped by Petersburg (Petersburg, VA), 20-12, in a league battle.

The Royals now own a 3-5 record. They play next when they host Dinwiddie for a Central battle on Thursday, October 30. Prince George will play a Generals team coming off a 47-8 league win over Meadowbrook (Richmond, VA). The Generals record now stands at 9-0.
