In Friday's league match, the host Independence football squad scored a close 21-20 victory over the Potomac Falls Panthers.

In their next game, the clash with the Briar Woods Falcons (Ashburn, VA) in a Potomac match, on Friday, November 3. Independence will attempt to move on its 3-6 season record. The Falcons enter the match with a 7-2 record after their 29-12 league loss to Stone Bridge (Ashburn, VA).

The Panthers (4-5) will now prepare for their match against Lightridge (Aldie, VA). The Bolts enter the Potomac match with a 5-4 record. In their last match, Lightridge held off Riverside (Leesburg, VA), 37-7, in a league match.
