Texas High School Football - Veterans Memorial tops Pioneer

October 3, 2024: Brownsville, TX 78520

The Veterans Memorial Chargers football squad scored 45 points and limited the visiting Pioneer Diamondbacks to 21 in the Chargers non-league triumph on Thursday.

The Chargers now hold a 4-2 record. They take the field next when they host Harlingen for a 6A Region IV District 32 test on Friday, October 11. Veterans Memorial will meet a Cardinals squad coming off a 24-14 non-league loss to Cuero (Cuero, TX). The Cardinals record now stands at 4-2.

With the defeat, Pioneer drops to 4-2 on the campaign. The Diamondbacks host Alice (Alice, TX) to meet the Coyotes in a 5A-2 Region IV District 15 test on Friday, October 11. The Coyotes come into the test with a record of 3-3. Alice won 28-27 in their recent non-league test against Tuloso-Midway (Corpus Christi, TX)
