West Virginia High School Football - Parkersburg edged by George Washington

October 3, 2025: Parkersburg, WV 26101

The George Washington Patriots edged the host Parkersburg Big Reds football team by a score of 37-30 in Friday's league challenge.

In their next game, the Patriots clash with the Jefferson Cougars (Shenandoah Junction, WV) in a non-league outing, on Saturday, October 11. George Washington will attempt to move on its 6-0 season record. The Cougars come into the outing with a 1-4 record after their 49-0 league win over Hedgesville (Hedgesville, WV).

With the defeat, Parkersburg drops to 3-3 on the campaign. The Big reds travel to Huntington (Huntington, WV) to clash with the Highlanders in a Mountain State outing on Friday, October 10. The Highlanders come into the outing with a record of 4-1. Huntington won 38-6 in their recent league outing against Capital (Charleston, WV)
