Welcome to Friday Night Lights! It’s Saratoga at Monta Vista, the next high school up the road, so this is a rivalry game!
This is the 10th meeting between these 2 schools in recent years, and Saratoga owns a 7-2 lead in those games
Last year the Falcons won in a rout 33-0, though the year before the Matadors prevailed 42-35
Monta Vista is 3-2 this year, winning their first 3 but then dropping their last 2
Saratoga on the other hand is having its best start since before MaxPreps records began, 4-0 for the first time in 20 years or more!
Toga trails only Gunn who’s 5-0, though Saratoga, Gunn, and Jefferson are all 3-0 in league
After tonight, the Falcons return home next Friday for Homecoming vs Lynbrook, followed by away at the new MacDonald HS in Santa Clara
And then it’s 10/25 at Jefferson, followed by 11/1 at Gunn
But tonight they need to get past the Matadors, and word has it it’s their own homecoming, so their home crowd will be large and loud!
Saratoga is ranked 66th in CCS, Monta Vista 85th, but all bets are off when it involves a rival and homecoming!
These 2 squads have only 1 common opponent so far: Saratoga beat El Camino 30-7, while Monta Vista lost 13-17
