New York High School Football - Iona Prep trounces St. Anthony's
October 4, 2025: Melville, NY 11747 In Saturday's non-league match, the visiting Iona Prep Gaels football squad scored a decisive 42-6 triumph over the St. Anthony's Friars.
The Gaels (5-0) will now prepare for their match against St. Francis Prep (Fresh Meadows, NY). The Terriers come into the non-league match with a 2-3 record. In their last match, St. Francis Prep routed Holy Cross (Flushing, NY), 18-14, in a league battle.
The Friars now have a 2-2 record. They play next when they travel to St. Peter's for a non-league battle on Saturday, October 11. St. Anthony's will play a Eagles team coming off a 30-12 non-league loss to Kellenberg Memorial (Uniondale, NY). The Eagles record now stands at 1-2.
