November 29, 2023: Los Angeles, CA 90011 Fans at Wednesday's non-league challenge between the Dr. Maya Angelou Community Phoenix (Los Angeles, CA) and the visiting Orthopaedic Vipers (Los Angeles, CA), saw Dr. Maya Angelou Community's basketball squad overcome Orthopaedic by a tally of 50-39.
With the victory, Dr. Maya Angelou Community improves its record to 3-3 on the campaign. The Phoenix host Maywood CES (Maywood, CA) to confront the Wolfpack in a non-league challenge on Thursday, November 30. The Wolfpack come into the challenge with a record of 2-0. Maywood CES won 54-19 in their recent non-league challenge against CALS Early College (Los Angeles, CA)
Next up, the Vipers confront the Community Charter Titans (Lakeview Terrace, CA) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, December 1. Orthopaedic will attempt to improve on its 2-3 season record. The Titans come into the challenge with a 1-4 record after their 35-29 non-league win over Lake Balboa College Prep (Lake Balboa, CA).
