Gaston Day Spartans (Gastonia, NC) supporters left the game satisfied Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad nudge the host Harding University Rams (Charlotte, NC), 68-66 in a non-league match.

With the victory, Gaston Day advances its record to 5-2 on the year. The Spartans host Hickory Grove Christian (Charlotte, NC) to face the Lions in a NCISAA Metrolina match on Tuesday, December 3. The Lions enter the match with a record of 2-4. Hickory Grove Christian lost 70-58 in their recent non-league match against High Point Christian Academy (High Point, NC)

The Rams now own a 1-2 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Butler for a non-league match on Tuesday, December 3. Harding University will face a Bulldogs squad coming off a 59-45 non-league win over West Charlotte (Charlotte, NC). The Bulldogs record now stands at 3-0.
