Utah High School Basketball - Mountain Ridge can't hold off Lehi
December 3, 2024: Lehi, UT 84043 Lehi Pioneers (Lehi, UT) boosters left the game satisfied Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad nudge the visiting Mountain Ridge Sentinels (Herriman, UT), 42-38 in a non-league match.
With the victory, Lehi upgrades its record to 3-1 on the year. The Pioneers travel to Bingham (South Jordan, UT) to face the Miners in a non-league match on Thursday, December 5. The Miners enter the match with a record of 2-2. Bingham won 53-34 in their recent non-league match against American Fork (American Fork, UT)
The Sentinels now sport a 3-1 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Salem Hills for a non-league match on Thursday, December 5. Mountain Ridge will face a Skyhawks squad coming off a 46-34 non-league win over Juab (Nephi, UT). The Skyhawks record now stands at 3-0.

Game Summary: Ellie Hill scored all 8 of Lehi's first quarter points making 2 threes and a two. Mountain Ridge also scored 8 points in the period. Both teams had trouble scoring in the second quarter as both teams played great defense. Lehi had a three-point lead at the end of the first half. Kinzie Jepson and Brynlee Cook each made 2 three-point baskets in the third quarter for the Pioneers as Lehi was able to increase the lead to 7 points as the third quarter ended. Lehi only made one basket in the fourth quarter which was a three-pointer by Lilly Worthen. The Pioneers made 5 of 7 shots from the free throw line in the final quarter while Mountain Ridge went 1 for 5. Lehi wins the game by four points.
