The South Pontotoc Cougars basketball team scored 57 points and held the visiting Ripley Tigers to 51 in the Cougars league triumph on Tuesday.

The Cougars now sport a 9-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host Houston for a 4A Region 2 contest on Friday, December 9. South Pontotoc will meet a Hilltoppers team coming off a 62-25 non-league win over Bruce (Bruce, MS). The Hilltoppers record now stands at 3-2.

The Tigers (5-2) will now prepare for their contest against Middleton (Middleton, TN). The Tigers enter the non-league contest with a 1-3 record. In their last contest, Middleton was nudged by Fayette Ware (Somerville, TN), 76-45, in a non-league contest.
