Texas High School Basketball - Valley View fells Mercedes
December 9, 2023: Mercedes, TX 78570 Valley View Tigers (Pharr, TX) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Mercedes Tigers (Mercedes, TX), 49-39 in a non-league bout.
With the win, Valley View upgrades its record to 8-10 on the season. The Tigers travel to Raymondville (Raymondville, TX) to play the Bearkats in a non-league bout on Saturday, December 9. The Bearkats go into the bout with a record of 5-10. Raymondville won 45-35 in their recent non-league bout against IDEA Weslaco Pike (Weslaco, TX)
Next up, the Tigers play the Porter Cowboys (Brownsville, TX) in a 5A Region IV District 32 bout, on Tuesday, December 12. Mercedes will attempt to upgrade on its 2-8 season record. The Cowboys go into the bout with a 3-6 record after their 58-46 non-league loss to Economedes (Edinburg, TX).
