Strom Thurmond Rebels (Johnston, SC) supporters left the game happy Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad hold off the visiting South Aiken Thoroughbreds (Aiken, SC), 37-34 in a non-league match.

With the victory, Strom Thurmond advances its record to 4-2 on the year. The Rebels travel to Silver Bluff (Aiken, SC) to meet the Bulldogs in a non-league match on Tuesday, December 17. The Bulldogs enter the match with a record of 2-1. Silver Bluff won 80-48 in their recent non-league match against Bamberg-Ehrhardt (Bamberg, SC)

The Thoroughbreds now own a 3-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Brookland-Cayce for a AAAA Region 4 match on Friday, December 13. South Aiken will meet a Bearcats squad coming off a 58-51 non-league loss to Dutch Fork (Irmo, SC). The Bearcats record now stands at 1-1.
