The crowd at Thursday's non-league challenge between the Liberty Lions (Peoria, AZ) and the visiting Desert Vista Thunder (Phoenix, AZ), observed Liberty's basketball team edge Desert Vista by a score of 78-73.

The Lions (5-0) will now prepare for their challenge against Sunrise Mountain (Peoria, AZ). The Mustangs come into the non-league challenge with a 3-5 record. In their last challenge, Sunrise Mountain edged Kellis (Glendale, AZ), 56-55, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Thunder battle the Boulder Creek Jaguars (Anthem, AZ) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, December 13. Desert Vista will attempt to improve on its 3-3 season record. The Jaguars come into the challenge with a 3-1 record after their 77-63 non-league win over Casteel (Queen Creek, AZ).
