The crowd at Friday's non-league challenge between the Almeta Crawford Chargers (Rosharon, TX) and the host Alief Taylor Lions (Houston, TX), observed Almeta Crawford's basketball team edge Alief Taylor by a score of 62-55.

The Chargers (9-5) will now prepare for their challenge against La Grange (La Grange, TX). The Leopards come into the non-league challenge with a 9-2 record. In their last challenge, La Grange edged Columbia (West Columbia, TX), 69-58, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Lions battle the Fulshear Chargers (Fulshear, TX) in a 6A Region III District 20 challenge, on Tuesday, December 17. Alief Taylor will attempt to improve on its 3-11 season record. The Chargers come into the challenge with a 7-13 record after their 78-73 non-league loss to Randle (Richmond, TX).
