December 13, 2024: Astoria, IL 61501 Illini Central Cougars (Mason City, IL) boosters left the game satisfied Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad notch a victory over the host Astoria/VIT Rebels (Astoria, IL), 58-45 in a non-league match.
With the victory, Illini Central upgrades its record to 4-4 on the year. The Cougars travel to Greenview (Greenview, IL) to face the Bulldogs in a Tomahawk match on Monday, December 16. The Bulldogs enter the match with a record of 0-5.
The Rebels now sport a 0-7 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Illini West for a Prairieland match on Tuesday, December 17. Astoria/VIT will face a Chargers squad coming off a 48-36 non-league win over Mercer County (Aledo, IL). The Chargers record now stands at 6-3.
