Danbury Panthers (Danbury, TX) supporters left the game satisfied Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad nudge the host Freer Buckaroos (Freer, TX), 48-45 in a non-league challenge.

The Panthers (9-7) will now prepare for their challenge against Nordheim (Nordheim, TX). The Pirates come into the non-league challenge with a 0-5 record. In their last challenge, Nordheim was tipped by Flatonia (Flatonia, TX), 60-37, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Buckaroos encounter the Santa Maria Cougars (Santa Maria, TX) in a 2A Region IV District 32 challenge, on Tuesday, December 17. Freer will attempt to improve on its 6-5 season record. The Cougars come into the challenge with a 2-7 record after their 70-46 non-league win over Rio Hondo (Rio Hondo, TX).
