The Meridian Yellowjackets basketball squad (Meridian, TX), was crushed 63-38 in Friday's non-league battle with the host Irion County Hornets (Mertzon, TX)

With the victory, Irion County advances its record to 4-4 on the year. The Hornets travel to Covington (Covington, TX) to meet the Owls in a non-league battle on Friday, December 13. The Owls enter the battle with a record of 5-4. Covington lost 41-38 in their recent non-league battle against Meridian (Meridian, TX)

The Yellowjackets now own a 9-1 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Penelope for a non-league battle on Saturday, December 14. Meridian will meet a Wolverines squad coming off a 57-20 non-league loss to Avalon (Avalon, TX). The Wolverines record now stands at 1-6.
