The Lumberton Pirates (Lumberton, NC) basketball knocked off the host Cape Fear Colts (Fayetteville, NC), 67-57 in Friday's league test.

The Pirates (2-3) will now prepare for their test against Pinecrest (Southern Pines, NC). The Patriots go into the non-league test with a 4-2 record. In their last test, Pinecrest notched a victory over Clayton (Clayton, NC), 58-50, in a non-league test.

The Colts now own a 1-5 record. They play next when they host Terry Sanford for a non-league test on Wednesday, January 3. Cape Fear will encounter a Bulldogs squad coming off a 55-41 non-league loss to Cardinal Newman (Columbia, SC). The Bulldogs record now stands at 0-6.
