Texas High School Basketball - Poteet holds off Life Waxahachie
December 15, 2023: Waxahachie, TX 75165 Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the Poteet Pirates (Mesquite, TX) and the host Life Waxahachie Mustangs (Waxahachie, TX), saw Poteet's basketball squad hold off Life Waxahachie by a tally of 39-34.
With the victory, Poteet improves its record to 8-4 on the campaign. The Pirates host Adams (Dallas, TX) to confront the Cougars in a 5A Region II District 12 challenge on Thursday, December 21. The Cougars come into the challenge with a record of 9-7. Adams lost 58-53 in their recent non-league challenge against Alvarado (Alvarado, TX)
Next up, the Mustangs confront the Ferris Yellowjackets (Ferris, TX) in a 4A Region II District 10 challenge, on Tuesday, December 19. Life Waxahachie will attempt to improve on its 9-7 season record. The Yellowjackets come into the challenge with a 7-10 record after their 67-49 non-league win over Bishop Dunne (Dallas, TX).
