In Saturday's non-league outing, the Weddington Warriors (Matthews, NC) basketball squad nipped the host Gaston Christian Eagles (Gastonia, NC), by a margin of 81-78.

The Warriors (9-0) will now prepare for their outing against Northside Christian Academy (Charlotte, NC). The Knights go into the non-league outing with a 8-4 record. In their last outing, Northside Christian Academy got by Lake Norman Christian (Davidson, NC), 83-30, in a non-league outing.
