Kentucky High School Basketball - Whitley County trounces Rye Cove
December 16, 2023: Williamsburg, KY 40769 The Whitley County Colonels (Williamsburg, KY) basketball crushed the visiting Rye Cove Eagles (Clinchport, VA), 75-35 in Saturday's non-league test.
The Colonels (6-1) will now prepare for their test against Casey County (Liberty, KY). The Rebels go into the non-league test with a 2-5 record. In their last test, Casey County was trounced by Rockcastle County (Mt. Vernon, KY), 92-58, in a league test.
The Eagles now own a 0-3 record. They play next when they host Patrick Henry for a non-league test on Monday, December 18. Rye Cove will encounter a Rebels squad coming off a 72-57 non-league win over J.I. Burton (Norton, VA). The Rebels record now stands at 8-1.
