In Saturday's non-league match, the visiting Ripley Vikings basketball team scored a tight 45-42 triumph over the Charleston Catholic Irish.

In their next game, the Vikings face the Winfield Generals (Winfield, WV) in a Cardinal match, on Wednesday, December 21. Ripley will attempt to advance on its 6-0 season record. The Generals go into the test with a 1-3 record after their 53-47 non-league win over Hoover (Clendenin, WV).

The Irish now own a 4-3 record. They play next when they host Notre Dame for a non-league test on Saturday, January 7. Charleston Catholic will encounter a Fighting Irish squad coming off a 63-14 non-league loss to Trinity Christian (Morgantown, WV). The Fighting Irish record now stands at 0-5.
