Fans at Monday's non-league challenge between the Staunton Storm (Staunton, VA) and the host Amherst County Lancers (Amherst, VA), saw Staunton's basketball squad hold off Amherst County by a tally of 59-58.

With the victory, Staunton improves its record to 2-2 on the campaign. The Storm host Waynesboro (Waynesboro, VA) to confront the Little Giants in a Shenandoah challenge on Tuesday, December 19. The Little Giants come into the challenge with a record of 0-7. Waynesboro lost 65-31 in their recent non-league challenge against Alleghany (Covington, VA)

Next up, the Lancers confront the Appomattox County Raiders (Appomattox, VA) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, December 21. Amherst County will attempt to improve on its 3-6 season record.
