Virginia High School Basketball - Granby edges Denbigh
December 18, 2023: Norfolk, VA 23505 The Granby Comets (Norfolk, VA) basketball nipped the visiting Denbigh Patriots (Newport News, VA), 26-22 in Monday's non-league test.
The Comets (3-3) will now prepare for their test against Maury (Norfolk, VA). The Commodores go into the Eastern test with a 0-4 record. In their last test, Maury was tipped by Western Branch (Chesapeake, VA), 60-42, in a non-league test.
The Patriots now own a 1-8 record. They play next when they travel to Kecoughtan for a Peninsula test on Tuesday, January 2. Denbigh will encounter a Warriors squad coming off a 70-28 league loss to Phoebus (Hampton, VA). The Warriors record now stands at 0-6.
