The Jay County Patriots (Portland, IN) basketball were winner over the host New Castle Trojans (New Castle, IN), 64-54 in Thursday's non-league bout.

The Patriots now possess a 6-5 record. They play next when they travel to South Adams for a Allen County bout on Saturday, December 21. Jay County will play a Starfires team coming off a 62-23 non-league loss to Monroe Central (Parker City, IN). The Starfires record now stands at 3-9.

With the loss, New Castle falls to 4-9 on the campaign. The Trojans travel to Northeastern (Fountain City, IN) to play the Knights in a non-league bout on Saturday, December 21. The Knights go into the bout with a record of 12-0. Northeastern won 69-17 in their recent league bout against Hagerstown (Hagerstown, IN)
