Fans at Wednesday's non-league challenge between the Laredo LBJ Wolves (Laredo, TX) and the host Nixon Mustangs (Laredo, TX), saw Laredo LBJ's basketball squad hold off Nixon by a tally of 55-53.

With the victory, Laredo LBJ improves its record to 9-11 on the campaign. The Wolves travel to Vanguard Academy Beethoven (Edinburg, TX) to confront the in a non-league challenge on Thursday, December 28. The come into the challenge with a record of 4-13.

Next up, the Mustangs confront the Palmview Lobos (La Joya, TX) in a 5A Region IV District 30 challenge, on Friday, December 29. Nixon will attempt to improve on its 11-9 season record. The Lobos come into the challenge with a 17-7 record after their 69-42 non-league win over Edinburg (Edinburg, TX).
