December 20, 2024: Powell, TN 37849 Coalfield Yellow Jackets (Coalfield, TN) boosters left the game satisfied Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad notch a victory over the host Powell Panthers (Powell, TN), 51-38 in a non-league match.
With the victory, Coalfield upgrades its record to 8-3 on the year. The Yellow Jackets travel to Wartburg Central (Wartburg, TN) to face the Bulldogs in a 1A District 3 match on Friday, December 20. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a record of 5-4. Wartburg Central won 37-31 in their recent non-league challenge against Rockwood (Rockwood, TN)
In their next game, the Panthers battle the Morristown-Hamblen West Trojans (Morristown, TN) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, January 3. Powell will attempt to better on its 5-6 season record. The Trojans come into the challenge with a 4-2 record after their 64-52 non-league win over Austin-East (Knoxville, TN).
